Freddie the Frog sat on a lily pad, basking in the warmth of the sun. He loved this pond and all it offered: the buzzing insects, the cool water, and the endless games he played by himself.
Lila the Frog, a friendly newcomer, hopped over to join Freddie. "Hi, I'm Lila! This pond is beautiful," she exclaimed, her eyes wide with excitement. "It is," Freddie replied, a bit unsure about sharing his space.
Freddie noticed Lila playing with some of his favorite pebbles. "Those are mine!" He croaked, feeling a surge of possessiveness. "I didn't know," Lila said softly, stepping back and looking a little sad.
Freddie sat alone, thinking about how Lila had looked when he shouted. "Maybe I was too harsh," he mused to himself, watching the ripples spread across the water.
Freddie hopped over to Lila, who was sitting quietly on another lily pad. "I'm sorry for earlier," he said, his voice sincere. "It's okay," Lila smiled, "Would you like to play together tomorrow?"
Freddie nodded, feeling lighter and happier. "I'd like that," he replied, realizing that sharing made the pond feel even more special. Together, they watched the stars, their friendship blooming beside the shimmering water.
