Emily sighed loudly as she missed the ball once again, her frustration mounting. Her little sister, Lily, sat nearby on the grass, humming a tune and playing with daisies. [@ch_1]Emily[/@ch_1_d]"Lily, can you please stop humming? I'm trying to concentrate!"[/@ch_1_d]
Lily stood up, her eyes wide with innocence. "Why don't you let me play with you?" she asked, her voice tinged with hope. Emily rolled her eyes, feeling the familiar annoyance rise. "Because, Lily, you always mess things up!"
Emily took a deep breath, looking at her sister's eager face. "Fine, but you have to follow my rules," she relented. Lily nodded enthusiastically, her pigtails bouncing. "I promise I'll be good!"
Emily was surprised to find that Lily was actually pretty good at playing soccer. "Pass it to me, Emily!" Lily called out, her voice full of excitement. [@ch_1]Emily[/@ch_1_d]"Nice kick, Lily!"[/@ch_1_d] she shouted back, genuinely impressed.
Emily looked at Lily with newfound appreciation. "You know, you're not so bad after all," she admitted, smiling. [@ch_2]Lily[/@ch_2_d]"I had so much fun! Can we play again tomorrow?"[/@ch_2_d] [@ch_1]Emily[/@ch_1_d]"Definitely,"[/@ch_1_d] she replied, feeling grateful for this unexpected bond.
Emily held open the door for Lily, feeling a warmth in her heart. "Thanks for playing with me, Emily," Lily said, giving her a quick hug. [@ch_1]Emily[/@ch_1_d]"Anytime, sis. Anytime,"[/@ch_1_d] she replied, realizing that sometimes the best playmates come in little packages.
