Anna, a curious girl with messy pigtails and wide eyes, tossed and turned under her covers, her little face scrunched in worry.
Shadows seemed to dance on the ceiling, making her heart race with thoughts of tomorrow's big school play.
"What if I forget my lines? What if everyone laughs at me? Oh no, the worries won't stop!"
Suddenly, a soft rustle came from beneath the bed, and out popped the Little Worry Monster, small and purple with oversized ears that flopped when it moved.
Anna sat up, clutching her teddy bear tightly, staring in surprise at the unexpected visitor.
The monster fidgeted, its tail twitching nervously as it whispered in a squeaky voice.
Little Worry Monster, the pint-sized anxiety collector with a backpack full of glowing worry orbs, shuffled forward hesitantly.
"Hi, Anna! I'm the Little Worry Monster. I collect worries from kids like you because they grow so big and heavy if left alone. Yours about the school play are extra sparkly tonight—want me to help carry them?"
Anna nodded slowly, watching in awe as her fears turned into shiny orbs that the monster gently scooped up.
Little Worry Monster opened its backpack wide, the orbs zipping inside with a soft pop, lightening the air around them.
"It feels... better already. But what do you do with all those worries? Do they ever come back?" "Oh, we take them to the Worry Mountain at dawn, where the sun shrinks them small enough to puff away like dandelion seeds. But first, let's play a game to make sure no new ones sneak in—tell me your favorite part of the play, and I'll dance it with you!"
Anna giggled, standing on her bed to act out her lines, her worries forgotten in the fun.
Little Worry Monster twirled dramatically, pretending to be the brave prince from the play, its ears flapping like a cape.
"You're the best prince ever! And tomorrow, I'll be brave too, just like you said—worries don't have to stay big if we share them." "Exactly! Worries are like clouds—they pass if you let the sunshine of fun peek through. Now, one more twirl before I head to the mountain!"
Little Worry Monster yawned, slinging its backpack over its shoulder, ready to leave.
Anna hugged her new friend, feeling strong and sleepy.
"Remember, Anna, if worries whisper again, call for me under the bed. We'll shrink them together every time!" "I will! Thanks for showing me worries aren't monsters—they're just little things we can handle."
Anna skipped to her dresser, picking her favorite dress with confidence, no shadows of doubt left.
The Little Worry Monster waved from under the bed one last time before vanishing with a wink.
From that night on, Anna knew she could always tame her worries with a little help and a lot of heart.
