Blythe Baxter, the shop’s caretaker, enters with a yawn, only to stop in her tracks at the sight before her. Each of the Littlest Pet Shop animals looks… much rounder than usual. Their bellies bulge adorably, and their movements are slow and waddling.
"Oh my goodness! What happened to all of you overnight?"
Penny Ling, the panda, rubs her belly with a sheepish smile. "Well, Blythe... last night we found a huge stash of treats behind the counter. We just couldn't resist!"
Russell Ferguson, the hedgehog, pushes his glasses up his nose, looking embarrassed. "I tried to stop everyone, really, but those carrot biscuits were just too tasty."
Pepper Clark, the skunk, lets out a giggle that sounds more like a hiccup. "And don’t forget the marshmallow puffs! I think I ate my weight in them!"
Sunil Nevla, the mongoose, tries to leap onto a shelf but bounces gently off his own belly. "I suppose we’ll have to roll instead of run today!"
Zoe Trent, the spaniel, tries to strike a glamorous pose, only to tip over with a laugh. "Well, at least I’m still fabulous... just a little fluffier!"
"Let's have a contest to see who can roll the farthest!"
The group lines up, giggling and cheering each other on as they wobble and roll across the rug, bumping into toy towers and each other with peals of laughter.
"Maybe it’s time for us to balance out our treats with a little exercise and some lighter snacks," she says kindly.
"That sounds nice, Blythe. Maybe we can make a game out of it, too," suggests Russell, brightening up.
"Today turned out to be the best kind of day—one with lots of laughs and friends," sighs Pepper, snuggling between Penny and Sunil.
"As long as we stick together, every day is a big adventure," adds Zoe, her eyes sparkling.
Blythe smiles, tucking a blanket around the group as they drift off to sleep, content and dreaming of tomorrow’s fun.
