Max was excited. Today was show-and-tell day, and he wore his favorite pair of red sneakers. But wait! As he looked down, he realized something was missing. "Oh no! Where is my shoe?" he exclaimed, eyes wide in surprise.
Max searched everywhere. He peeked under chairs, behind doors, and even asked his friends. "Have you seen my shoe?" he asked each of them. But no one had seen it. Ella, his classmate, joined in the search with a determined look. "Let's find it together!" she said.
Max and Ella decided to look outside. "Maybe it fell off while we were playing," Ella suggested. They checked the slide, the sandbox, and even under the swings, but the shoe was still missing.
Max sat down, feeling a bit sad. Then, he noticed something red sticking out from under the teacher's desk. "Could it be?" he wondered aloud. He crawled over and pulled out his missing shoe, covered in a bit of dust.
Max held up his shoe triumphantly. "I found it!" he cheered. Ella[/@ch_3_d] clapped her hands. "Great job, Max!" she said with a smile. [@ch_2]Max felt happy and grateful to have such good friends.
Max sat with Ella and the other children, listening to the story. "Losing something can be an adventure," he thought, feeling wiser. He looked at his red sneakers, happy they were both back where they belonged.
