Suzy burst into the kitchen, her face glowing with excitement after a day of adventure. Her eyes landed on Sam, her older brother, who was munching on a shiny red apple.
"I want a snack!" she exclaimed, spotting an orange on the counter and reaching for it eagerly.
Sam paused mid-bite, a playful grin spreading across his face. "You know, Suzy, there's a little magic word that makes snacks appear faster," he teased, raising an eyebrow with a hint of mystery.
Suzy's eyes widened with intrigue. "Magic? Really?" she asked, her voice tinged with awe.
Sam leaned closer, whispering conspiratorially. "The magic word is 'please,'" he revealed.
Suzy tilted her head, processing the new information. "Okay," she said slowly, turning back to the orange. "Sam, can you hand me that orange, please?"
Suzy gasped in wonder, her eyes sparkling with delight. "It worked! Magic dust!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with joy and disbelief.
Sam chuckled, watching her amazement. "See? Saying 'please' is like magic. It makes people happy to help you," he explained, his smile widening.
Suzy dashed into the room, her excitement bubbling over. "Mom, can I have a cookie, please?" she asked, her voice sweet and hopeful.
Once again, golden dust appeared, swirling and sparkling as a cookie magically hopped out of the jar into Suzy's hand.
Mom smiled warmly, a twinkle in her eye. "Wow, Suzy. Saying 'please' really is magical, isn't it?"
Suzy practiced her magic word everywhere she went. "Can you read me a story, please?" she asked Dad, who obligingly opened a book with a grin.
"Can I borrow your crayons, please?" she inquired of Sam, who handed them over with a nod and a smile.
Every time the golden dust appeared, Suzy's wishes were granted with happy smiles all around.
As she lay there, her thoughts drifted over the day's events. "Magic is real when you say 'please'!" she whispered to her teddy, her heart full of happiness.
And from that day on, Suzy used her magic word everywhere she went, spreading happiness and golden dust wherever she spoke, her world a little more magical with every kind request.
