Lila felt a surge of excitement tingling in her fingertips as she pushed open the creaky gate. A golden butterfly fluttered by and settled on her shoulder. "Hello, Lila!" said the butterfly, its wings shimmering like liquid sun. Sunny, the butterfly, had a voice as soft as the breeze. Rusty, a plump rabbit with a twitching nose, hopped into view. "And I’m Rusty! Sunny’s partner in finding treasures. Are you ready for an adventure?" Lila nodded eagerly, feeling a sense of wonder as they ventured deeper into the garden.
Lila leaned in to read the engraving aloud: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. – John 3:16." Sunny fluttered around the fountain, "This scripture is a reminder of how much God loves the world. His love is like this fountain—endless and life-giving." Rusty twitched his nose, "And just like this water nourishes the garden, God’s love nourishes our hearts." Lila smiled, warmth spreading through her chest as she imagined the vastness of such love.
Lila untied a scroll hanging from a branch and read the words: "But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ – Matthew 19:14." Sunny landed on her hand, "Jesus loves children and wants them to know they are always welcome in His presence." Rusty nodded, "That’s why this garden is so magical. It’s a place where children like you can learn how special they are to God." Lila’s face lit up with joy, feeling an invisible embrace around her.
Lila approached the table and read aloud, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. – Ephesians 4:32." Sunny flitted around her head, "Kindness is a gift we can give to everyone. It’s like these flowers—simple, beautiful, and able to brighten someone’s day." Rusty hopped onto the table, "Forgiveness is important too. When we forgive, it’s like pulling out weeds that could harm our garden of love and friendship." Lila thought for a moment, "I’ll try to be more kind and forgiving, even when it’s hard."
Lila crouched down to read: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6." Sunny hovered by the water, "Trusting God is like crossing this bridge. Even if you’re not sure what’s on the other side, you know He’ll guide you safely." Rusty nodded, "When you trust God, you don’t have to carry all your worries alone. He’s always there to help." Lila stood on the bridge, listening to the gentle flow of the stream, "I’ll remember to trust God, even when things seem uncertain."
Lila picked a piece of fruit, reading the plaque: "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. – Psalm 107:1." Sunny handed her the fruit, "Gratitude is like this fruit—it fills us with sweetness and joy when we remember all the good things God has done for us." Rusty added, "When we’re thankful, it helps us see God’s love more clearly, even on difficult days." Lila held the fruit close to her heart, "I’m thankful for this garden and for everything I’ve learned today."
