Lily watched her brother with a mix of annoyance and amusement. She had long given up trying to distract him from his virtual worlds. But today, she had a plan up her sleeve.
"Hey, Max. Tired of being glued to the screen?" She teased, holding a shimmering package behind her back.
"Not really, Lily. This is the best part!" He replied, without taking his eyes off the screen.
Max paused his game, curiosity piqued. "What's this?" He asked, cautiously taking the package.
"A little something I thought you'd enjoy. Consider it a break from your games," Lily grinned.
Max tore open the wrapping to reveal a dazzling mermaid tail. Its scales glimmered like jewels in the sunlight, each one a different hue of the ocean.
Max stood at the edge of the pool, the mermaid tail fitted snugly around his legs. He hesitated, feeling slightly ridiculous, but Lily's laughter nudged him forward.
"Go on, try it out! You might discover something amazing," Lily encouraged.
As Max slipped into the water, a tingling sensation spread through his body. Suddenly, the world around him transformed. The pool expanded into a vast underwater realm, teeming with vibrant marine life.
Max marveled at the sight before him. He could breathe, speak, and move with ease. Dolphins swam alongside him, their eyes twinkling with intelligence.
"Welcome to our world, Max. We've been waiting for you," a dolphin chirped in a melodic voice.
Lily looked up as Max entered, the mermaid tail draped over his arm, his face glowing with excitement.
"You'll never believe what I saw, Lily! It was incredible!" He exclaimed, recounting his underwater adventure.
"Looks like the tail was a good idea after all," Lily smiled, glad to see her brother so animated.
"Maybe we can go on more adventures together, Lily," Max suggested, his eyes full of wonder.
"I'd like that," Lily replied, feeling the bond between them grow stronger with each tale shared.
