Lian sighed as they gazed at the makeshift drawings. Suddenly, a mystical figure emerged from the shadows, an Old Sage whose robe seemed to flow like the mist itself. "Lian, your heart is pure, and your art is filled with kindness. Take this magical paintbrush—use it wisely." Lian looked up, eyes wide with wonder. "A magical paintbrush? What does it do?" "Whatever you paint with it will come to life. But remember—use it only for good," the sage cautioned before vanishing into the evening mist. Lian stared at the glowing brush in awe, feeling a mix of excitement and responsibility.
Villager struggled, attempting to carry an empty basket, their face etched with worry. "If only I had food for my family…" Lian, feeling a surge of compassion, took up the magical brush and painted a loaf of bread. To everyone's amazement, the painting glowed and turned real! "This… this is real! Thank you, young one!" exclaimed the villager, eyes wide with gratitude. Seeing the joy they brought, Lian continued painting food, houses, and wells, transforming the village into a place of abundance and happiness.
The soldiers seized Lian, dragging them through the palace gates to face the Greedy King, who sat smugly on his throne. "I hear you have a magical brush. Paint me mountains of gold!" he demanded, his eyes gleaming with avarice. Lian stood firm, "This brush is for kindness, not greed," they replied defiantly. "If you do not obey, you shall never leave this palace!" the king threatened, his voice echoing through the grand chamber.
With a quick stroke of the brush, Lian painted a mighty river that surged through the palace, sending the Greedy King into a panic as water rose around him. "Stop this at once!" he shouted, helplessly splashing in the flood. Lian painted a sturdy boat, leaping in as the current swept them away from the chaos, leaving the king and his palace submerged and defeated.
Villager cheered as Lian returned, their hero who had saved them from the king's greed. "You have a true artist’s heart, Lian," one said gratefully. "Art should be used to bring happiness, not greed," Lian replied, smiling at the joyful faces around them. From that day forward, Lian continued using the paintbrush to bring beauty and kindness into the world, forever remembered as a hero who painted not for power, but for the people.
