Tommy and Lily, the three-year-old twins, sat amidst the marshmallow chaos, giggling as they picked up the fluffy treats. "Look, Lily, a marshmallow mountain!" Tommy exclaimed, his eyes wide with excitement.
Lily clapped her hands, her curls bouncing with each movement. "Let's make it bigger!" she chimed in, her voice filled with wonder. The sunlight danced on their faces, highlighting their identical features and playful innocence.
Mrs. Johnson, the twins’ mother, paused at the doorway, taking in the scene. "What are you two up to?" she asked, suppressing a smile as she observed the marshmallow-covered floor.
Lily looked up, eyes sparkling. "We’re building a marshmallow castle!" she declared proudly, her small hands gesturing towards their creation.
Mrs. Johnson chuckled softly, kneeling down to their level. "Well, it seems we have some cleaning to do," she said, her voice gentle but firm, as she began gathering the marshmallows with them.
With Mrs. Johnson leading the way, the twins eagerly helped pick up the marshmallows, their giggles echoing in the sunlit room. "Oops, I ate one!" Tommy confessed, his cheeks puffed with marshmallow.
Lily giggled, stuffing another marshmallow into her mouth. "I ate two!" she boasted, playfully nudging her brother.
Mrs. Johnson shook her head with a smile. "Alright, marshmallow monsters, let's finish up and then we’ll have a real treat," she promised, herding them towards the last of the marshmallows.
As a reward for their hard work, Mrs. Johnson presented the twins with a plate of freshly baked cookies. Their eyes widened in delight, and they eagerly reached for the sweet treats.
"Yummy!" Tommy declared, his mouth full of cookie. Lily nodded in agreement, crumbs adorning her lips.
Mrs. Johnson watched them with warmth in her eyes, feeling grateful for these precious moments of laughter and love. "You two make every day an adventure," she said, pulling them into a loving embrace.
