Professor Hoots, the wise old owl, flapped his wings and called out to the children gathered below. "Welcome, friends! Today we'll learn something new—how your mouth can help YOU!" The children laughed, waving at Professor Hoots as he twirled his notepad, ready to reveal the wonders of myofunctional therapy.
Professor Hoots hopped to the front of the room, clearing his throat. "Some folks snore like a bear, or drool on their shirt. Others find swallowing hard and their speech a bit curt. But with myofunctional therapy, things can change quick—let's find out the steps that just might do the trick!" The children leaned in, wide-eyed and eager for the silly secrets to come.
Professor Hoots pointed to the first picture, where a boy snored so loudly he jostled his cat. "Therapy helps with snoring and mouth-breathing too, and if you lisp or say 'S' like a snake in a shoe! If you have trouble chewing or swallowing your food, myofunctional therapy can help you improve!" The children giggled at the silly snake-in-a-shoe drawing, imagining all the things their mouths could do.
Professor Hoots demonstrated a tongue press, sticking his tongue to the roof of his beak with a flourish. "Try pressing your tongue to the top of your mouth—like you’re hiding a secret or chasing a mouse! Now puff those cheeks like a big, huffy frog, and practice sipping water—don’t let any clog!" The children followed along, making faces, puffing cheeks, and giggling as they wiggled their tongues and lips together.
Professor Hoots explained with a wink, "With practice, you’ll breathe through your nose, sleep through the night, and your words will come out clear and bright. No more drooling, no more snores—your mouth will be healthy, hooray, and much more!" The children cheered, imagining peaceful sleep and strong, smiling faces.
"With a tongue that is strong and lips that are neat, myofunctional therapy can’t be beat! Exercise your mouth, keep it healthy and fun, and your marvelous mouth will help everyone!" The children danced and sang along, promising to practice their exercises every day, and Professor Hoots beamed with pride at the joyful, silly, and healthy crowd.
