Sally peeked into the cage, her heart sinking as she saw Harry, her beloved hamster, lying motionless in his bedding. "Oh no, Harry, please wake up!" she whispered, her voice quivering with fear. She gently tapped on the cage, hoping for any sign of life.
Sally grabbed her hamster care book, flipping through pages with trembling fingers. "Maybe I can find something to help," she muttered, her mind racing. The fear of losing Harry clutched at her heart, and she could feel tears welling up in her eyes.
Sally found her mom, who was preparing breakfast. "Mom, I think something's wrong with Harry," she cried, holding back tears. Her mom paused, concern etching her face, and followed Sally back to her room to see the situation for herself.
Mom carefully lifted the hamster from his bedding, examining him closely. "I think he's just in a deep sleep, sweetheart," she reassured, giving Harry a gentle nudge. Slowly, Harry stirred, blinking up at them with sleepy eyes.
Sally beamed, hugging her mom tightly. "I was so scared, but he's okay," she whispered, a smile breaking through her earlier panic. Mom nodded, her own relief evident as Harry began to explore his cage once more.
"Today, I learned not to jump to conclusions too quickly," Sally wrote, glancing over at Harry nibbling on a treat. She smiled, feeling thankful for her furry friend's presence and the lesson in patience and understanding.
