The Monkey leaps nimbly from a tall fig tree, his eyes gleaming with curiosity and mischief. He loves eating sweet fruits and chatting with friends by the riverbank. Today, he notices something unusual floating on the water.
The Crocodile lifts his head to greet the monkey, his tail swishing gently in the water.
"Good morning, Monkey! Why don’t you come closer and enjoy the cool river with me?"
The Monkey hesitates, gripping a branch tightly.
"Thank you, Crocodile, but I like it better up here in the trees. The river looks nice, though!"
The Crocodile tries to tempt the monkey by offering him delicious fruits.
"I know where the juiciest mangoes grow, Monkey. If you ride on my back, I will take you there!"
The Monkey grins, tempted by the offer.
"That sounds wonderful! But… how do I know you’re telling the truth?"
The Crocodile paddles deeper into the water, his smile growing wider.
"Hold on tight, Monkey. We’re going on an adventure!"
The Monkey looks around nervously, sensing something is not quite right.
"Monkey, my king wants to eat your heart because he believes it is the smartest in the jungle!"
The Monkey gasps, thinking quickly.
"Oh, Crocodile, I wish you had told me earlier. I left my heart in the tree where I live! Take me back, and I’ll fetch it for you."
The Crocodile looks up in surprise as the monkey laughs from above.
"Thank you, Crocodile, but I will never trust someone who tries to trick me. Cleverness is better than strength!"
The crocodile sighs and swims away, while the monkey enjoys his fruits, happy and safe in his leafy home.
