The Moon hovered in her usual place, her round cheeks flushed with concern. Tonight, instead of her favorite pajamas, she wore only her silvery glow. She drifted back and forth, scanning the sky, her light flickering with anxiety.
"Oh dear, where have my pajamas gone? Bedtime is almost here, and I can't possibly sleep without them!"
Starlet, the brightest and most inquisitive star, zipped to the Moon's side, her light sparkling with excitement.
"Don't worry, Moon! We'll help you find your pajamas,"
Nimbus, a gentle, pillow-shaped cloud, joined them, his misty form shimmering in the cool air.
"Maybe they’re stuck on a treetop or tangled with the wind. Let’s look together,"
Ollie the Owl, feathers ruffled and eyes half-shut, blinked up at the search party.
"What’s all this fluttering about? Can’t a bird get some sleep?"
"Ollie, have you seen my favorite pajamas? I can’t find them anywhere!"
"Hmm, let me think… I did see something soft and stripey drift by just before dusk, right over the meadow," Ollie murmured, stretching his wings.
Starlet darted down, her light scanning the meadow, while Nimbus drifted behind, fluffing up for extra light. Suddenly, a glimmer of pale blue and yellow stripes flashed between the tall grass.
"There they are! Look—under the buttercup patch near the old stone wall!"
Nimbus carefully scooped up the pajamas, shaking off petals and dew. The Moon's face brightened, her glow once again steady and warm.
"Oh, thank you all! I was so worried I’d have to sleep in the cold. You’re the best friends a moon could have,"
"Anytime, Moon! We’ll always help you get ready for bed," chimed Starlet, twinkling with pride.
With her pajamas snug and friends all around, the Moon settled into her nightly place, smiling down on the world. The sky shimmered with comfort as everyone drifted off to sleep, their dreams as cozy as the moon’s new-found pajamas.
