In the heart of the night, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sat in his humble home. The walls were simple, made of sun-dried clay, and the woven mat beside his bed bore the imprint of his recent rest. The air was still, yet loaded with anticipation, as he rose quietly, careful not to disturb the serenity. His house, modest and filled with love, was a silent witness to the miracle about to unfold.
Stepping outside, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) saw the magnificent Buraq—a heavenly beast, shining like the full moon, with wings shimmering with light. Its hooves glimmered as if kissed by stars. The night was silent except for the gentle breeze, and Buraq patiently awaited its noble passenger, ready to soar beyond earthly bounds. "In the name of Allah," he whispered, mounting the miraculous !steed.
Swiftly crossing the land, Buraq brought Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to Masjid Al-Aqsa. The mosque stood proud, its golden dome shining beneath a sky speckled with stars. Inside, he found many prophets assembled—Prophet Musa (Moses) deep in supplication, Prophet Isa (Jesus) radiating peace, and Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) offering heartfelt prayers. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was invited to lead them, humbly taking his place at the front. "Welcome, O beloved Messenger!"
Rising from Masjid Al-Aqsa, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ascended through the seven heavens. In the first heaven, he met Prophet Adam (peace be upon him), greeting him warmly. The second heaven shimmered with emerald light, where Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) and Prophet Yahya (John) stood together, spreading peace. The third heaven glowed golden, with Prophet Yusuf (Joseph), whose beauty lit the sky. In the fourth, Prophet Idris (Enoch) wrote with angelic scrolls. The fifth revealed Prophet Harun (Aaron), smiling with kindness. The sixth heaven sparkled ruby, where Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) conversed deeply. Finally, in the seventh, Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) sat beneath the Sidrat al-Muntaha, a tree of unimaginable beauty.
Beyond the seventh heaven, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) approached the Sidrat al-Muntaha. Its leaves were vast and sparkling, its trunk glowing with celestial gold. The air was filled with shimmering radiance, and beyond the tree, a veil of pure light marked the border of creation. Here, Allah gifted the prayer—Salah—to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) for all believers. "My Ummah will cherish this gift," he promised with gratitude.
With the journey complete, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) returned home. The night’s silence lingered, his bed still warm, and the lamp’s glow soft in the quiet room. The miracle had taken only moments, yet its blessings would last forever. As the sun began to rise, his heart overflowed with gratitude, knowing that the gift of prayer would forever connect earth to the heavens.
