Phoenix, a bright-eyed girl with a head full of wild curls, bounces on her bed, clutching her favorite bunny plush. Eden, her younger brother, sits beside her, his eyes wide with sleepy excitement. The room smells faintly of lavender from freshly washed sheets.
"I don't want to go to sleep yet! What if I miss the Easter Bunny?"
Eden[/@ch_2]'s small feet and tucks Phoenix's favorite plush under her arm. The room is filled with warmth and the quiet hum of nighttime settling in.]
Mom, patient and wise, leans closer to her children.
"The Easter Bunny is very shy, my loves. He only comes when all the children are fast asleep. If you stay awake, he might hop right past our house because he doesn't want to be seen."
"But what if I'm just a little awake? Maybe I can peek and see him," whispers Eden, his voice trembling with hope.
"Or maybe we can trick him and pretend to sleep," suggests Phoenix, a sly grin spreading across her face.
Phoenix[/@ch_1]'s forehead, her voice soothing and soft as a lullaby. Outside, a gentle breeze rustles the budding trees, and the world seems to hush in anticipation.]
"Sleeping is magical tonight," Mom explains. "When you close your eyes and drift into your dreams, the Easter Bunny knows it's safe to hide eggs and surprises for you. He hops quietly and leaves behind all sorts of treats, but only for those who are resting peacefully."
Phoenix[/@ch_1] and Eden finally settle, their faces softening as sleep begins to claim them. The air feels full of magic, the promise of tomorrow shimmering in the stillness.]
"I hope I dream about the Easter Bunny," murmurs Phoenix, her eyelids fluttering shut.
"Me too," Eden replies, his voice barely a whisper as he curls up beside his sister.
Phoenix leaps from her bed, Eden right behind her, both racing to discover every hidden surprise. Their mother stands in the doorway, her heart full as she watches the joy that only a night of good sleep—and a visit from the Easter Bunny—can bring.
"He really did come! Sleeping worked!" cheers Phoenix.
"Next year, I’ll try to sleep even faster," laughs Eden, scooping up a chocolate egg.
