Nutty, a small, inquisitive squirrel with a glossy, bushy tail, paused on a branch, peering curiously at the distant house where Timmy lived. The stories of the nutty wallpaper had intrigued him for days.
"Imagine a room full of nuts, just waiting to be eaten," he mused to himself, his eyes twinkling with excitement.
Nutty scampered down the tree, his heart racing with anticipation. He approached the window cautiously, his nose twitching as he surveyed the room within. The wallpaper, adorned with vibrant illustrations of nuts, seemed to call out to him.
"This is it," he thought, mustering his courage as he squeezed through the gap.
Nutty bounded across the bed, eyes wide with wonder. But as he attempted to nibble at the enticing nuts, he realized they were mere paintings. His teeth met only the cool, smooth surface of the wall.
"Oh no, they're not real!" he exclaimed, his ears drooping in dismay.
Nutty froze, panic surging through him as Timmy entered. In his haste to find a hiding spot, he knocked over a lamp and sent a stack of books tumbling to the floor. The room echoed with the clatter, and Nutty darted under the bed sheets, quivering with fear.
"What on earth happened here?" Timmy wondered aloud, setting his backpack down.
Timmy noticed the little lump under the sheets and gently pulled them back to reveal a trembling Nutty. Startled by the discovery, he broke into a grin.
"Hey there, little guy," he said softly, extending a hand in friendship. Nutty blinked up at him, his fear slowly melting away.
Timmy gently lifted Nutty into his palm, marveling at the tiny creature. Nutty sniffed curiously at the boy's fingers, sensing kindness and warmth.
"I guess the nuts aren't real, but maybe we can find some real ones together," Timmy suggested, his eyes twinkling with excitement.
Nutty chirped in agreement, his heart swelling with newfound joy at the thought of adventures yet to come, side by side with his new friend.
