Bella, a furry pup with a playful wag, nudged her brother awake. Shadow, sleek and black with bright, curious eyes, blinked sleepily at the sound of their mama humming as she packed her school bag. "Wake up, Shadow! Mama’s getting ready for school, and maybe we can help her today,""Do you think we’ll get to visit her classroom again? Last time the students loved us!"
The hallways are lined with colorful posters and the scent of crayons. Their mama, wearing a cheerful scarf, beckons them into her classroom, where a group of eager students wait with wide eyes. "Good morning, class! Today, we have some special helpers," Bella and Shadow's mama announces. The students squeal with excitement as the two dogs hop up to the front of the room, ready for their lesson.
Shadow lifts a paw and points to the baskets. Bella grabs a tennis ball and drops it into the 'Ones' basket, her tail wagging in anticipation. "Everyone, let’s count together! Each ball I add is worth one," he says, nudging two more balls in. "Now we have three ones! But what happens when we get to ten?" asks Bella, her eyes sparkling.
Bella and Shadow work together, piling up ten balls in the 'Ones' basket. Shadow carefully carries them over to the 'Tens' basket, while Bella demonstrates how a group of ten becomes a new unit. "Ten ones make one ten! See, it’s like trading ten little treats for one big bone,""And if we put ten tens together, we get one hundred! That’s a mountain of treats!" Shadow beams, his tail thumping the floor.
One little girl shyly steps forward and places a ball in the 'Ones' basket, grinning when Bella gives her a gentle nuzzle. "Great job! Now, who wants to show how we make a ten?" A boy eagerly gathers ten balls, and the class cheers as Shadow helps him move them to the 'Tens' basket.
Bella rests her head on a student’s knee, while Shadow soaks up gentle ear scratches. "Remember, place value helps us understand big numbers. Just like teamwork helps us do big things,""And learning together can be a lot of fun—especially with friends," Bella adds with a happy sigh, as the class waves goodbye, already looking forward to their next paw-some lesson.
