Chick was born in the heart of the research farm, where the days were perpetually sunny and filled with the sounds of bustling animals. She was smaller than the other chicks, a fact that set her apart, but Mother Hen always reassured her, "Special, that's what you are, my dear."
Intrigued by the notion of a fertilized egg, Chick embarked on a mission. "Mr. Pig, you're so much more charming than the rooster boys. Would you take my egg?" Mr. Pig snorted and waddled away. Mr. Donkey and Mr. Dog had similar reactions, each politely declining Chick's unusual offer.
That night, Chick dreamt of a peculiar figure in a green rubber boiler suit, ginger hair peeking out from beneath a cap. The figure seemed to study her with a clipboard in hand. "What a strange dream," she murmured upon waking. Mother Hen chuckled, "Too much cheese before bed, perhaps?"
A bus full of new roosters arrived at the farm, each strutting off with an air of confidence. Red Rooster, in particular, caught Chick's eye with his fiery plumage. "Perhaps he will have my egg," she thought, feeling a flutter of excitement.
Chick and Red Rooster found themselves alone behind the milk sheds. "Was that good for you?" he asked, puffing out his chest. Chick replied honestly, "It was very quick." Red Rooster huffed, kicking at the dirt before strutting away.
The following morning, Chick proudly announced, "Mother Hen, I've laid my first egg!" An egg party was quickly arranged, with all the mother hens in attendance. On the 21st day, the egg hatched, revealing a chick unlike any other. Chick marveled, "A Human-Hen, my truly special egg!" Anything seemed possible on this whimsical farm.
