Percy the Pelican perched on a large rock near the water's edge, watching the other birds with a longing in his heart. "I wish I could join them," he sighed, feeling the familiar pang of anxiety tighten his chest.
Percy observed the lively group from a distance, his heart yearning for companionship. "What if they don't like me?" he wondered, his wings drooping slightly with doubt.
Percy took a deep breath and waddled towards the group, his beak clicking nervously. As he approached, his anxiety bubbled up again. "Maybe I should turn back," he thought, his feet hesitating on the warm sand.
Lila the Seagull, a friendly bird with bright eyes and a cheerful demeanor, noticed Percy's hesitation. "Hey, are you okay?" she called, flapping her wings to get his attention.
Percy was surprised by Lila's kindness. "I'm just... nervous about making friends," he admitted softly. "Don't worry," Lila chirped encouragingly. "Everyone's a little anxious sometimes. Come, I'll introduce you!"
With Lila by his side, Percy felt his confidence grow. He joined the other birds, and soon, laughter and joy filled the air once more. "I'm glad I didn't turn back," Percy thought, feeling the warmth of newfound friendship.
