Tommy, a little boy with tousled brown hair and freckles, clutches the pink paper tightly, his face flushed with anger. Beside him, Eli, a slightly taller boy with dark curly hair, sits with a calm demeanor, his eyes fixed on the paper.
"You took it from my desk, Eli!" Tommy accuses, his voice trembling with frustration.
"I didn't take it, Tommy. I found it on the floor," Eli replies, his tone steady yet apologetic.
Ms. Carter, a woman with kind eyes and a gentle smile, approaches the boys. "What's going on here, boys?" she asks, her voice soothing yet firm.
"Eli has my drawing, and he won't give it back!" Tommy exclaims, holding up the pink paper for emphasis.
"I was just trying to help, Ms. Carter. I found it by the door," Eli explains, his expression earnest.
"Let’s see what we have here," Ms. Carter says, gently taking the pink paper from Tommy. She examines the vibrant drawing of a park with a rainbow overhead. "This is a beautiful drawing, Tommy. How about we find a safe place for it?"
"I guess it could have fallen, but I worked really hard on it," Tommy admits, his anger softening into understanding.
"How about we pin it up here for everyone to enjoy?" Ms. Carter suggests, handing Tommy a thumbtack.
"Okay, that sounds good," Tommy agrees, a small smile forming as he pins his artwork proudly.
"Sorry for the misunderstanding, Tommy," Eli offers, his sincerity clear.
"Thanks, Eli. I shouldn’t have gotten so mad," Tommy says, his tone now friendly.
"No problem. Let’s draw something together next time," Eli suggests, his eyes bright with excitement.
"Yeah, that sounds fun!" Tommy agrees, their dispute forgotten as they begin to plan their next artistic endeavor.
