Rachel sat cross-legged on the plush carpet, absorbed in her sketchbook. Her focus was abruptly broken by the unexpected sensation of being lifted from behind. Mia had snuck up on her, giggling as she hoisted her older sister onto her back.
"Mia! What are you doing?" Rachel exclaimed, caught between surprise and laughter.
"Giving you a piggyback ride, of course!" Mia chirped, her voice full of mischief and sunshine.
The girls twirled in circles, Rachel's long hair flowing like a banner behind them. The room spun with colors—vibrant reds, cozy browns, and the golden light that danced through the windows.
Rachel clung onto Mia tightly, the initial embarrassment melting away with each step her sister took. "Are you sure I'm not too heavy?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern.
"Nope!" Mia replied confidently, her grin almost as wide as the room itself. "I carry heavier stuff to school. You're the lightest load I've ever had!"
Rachel slid off Mia's back, her feet finding the solid ground. She looked at her sister, a mix of admiration and gratitude in her eyes.
"You're really strong, you know that?" Rachel said, an appreciative smile forming on her lips.
"I learned from the best," Mia replied, nudging Rachel playfully.
They settled onto the sofa, still catching their breath. The sunlight bathed everything in a gentle glow, and the room felt like a sanctuary of sisterhood.
Rachel picked up her sketchbook again, this time drawing the memory of their joyful romp. Mia watched, her eyes sparkling with the thrill of their shared moment.
"I'm glad we did this," Rachel said softly, glancing at her sister.
"Me too," Mia replied, her smile as bright as ever.
As the day waned, the living room took on a calm, twilight hue. The sisters remained side by side, their laughter now a comforting memory lingering in the air.
Rachel felt a newfound appreciation for her spirited sister. Their playful journey had been more than a moment of fun; it was a testament to the strength and joy of their bond.
Mia leaned against Rachel's shoulder, her heart full of love and mischief. Together, they watched the sun dip below the horizon, content in their unbreakable connection.
