Lila sat cross-legged on the soft carpet, her eyes fixed on the big-girl potty. It stood there, bright pink and inviting, yet it seemed to hold a secret challenge. Beside her, Mr. Snuggles, her beloved stuffed bear, offered silent support. "Today is the day, Mr. Snuggles," she declared with a determined nod, her tiny fingers clutching the bear's fuzzy paw.
Lila scrunched her nose, feeling the familiar sensation that signaled it was time to go. But a small part of her hesitated, the thought of using the potty for more than just a wee still daunting. "It's just a potty, after all," she whispered to Mr. Snuggles, who nodded in agreement, his button eyes offering endless encouragement.
Lila's mother entered the room, her smile warm and understanding. "Are you ready to give it a try, sweetheart?" she asked, kneeling beside her daughter. Lila looked at the potty, then at Mr. Snuggles, before nodding slightly. "Remember, there's a special sticker waiting for you," her mother added, holding up a shiny gold star.
With a deep breath, Lila stood up, determination lighting up her features. She approached the potty, Mr. Snuggles tucked under one arm for moral support. "Here we go," she murmured to herself, the promise of the glittering sticker giving her courage.
Lila beamed with pride, her eyes sparkling with the joy of achievement. Her mother embraced her, and Mr. Snuggles seemed to smile too. "You did it, Lila!" her mother cheered, handing her the gold star sticker. Lila placed it on her chart with great care, each star there a testament to her growing independence.
Lila snuggled into bed, Mr. Snuggles nestled beside her. "Tomorrow, we'll get another sticker," she whispered, her eyelids heavy with sleep. The room was peaceful, a quiet testament to a day filled with small victories and big steps forward.
