Sam, with his curly hair and bright smile, stood next to Peter, a tall boy with glasses and a thoughtful expression. They watched as their classmates played, feeling the weight of the upcoming exam on their shoulders.
"I don't know how I'm going to pass this math test," Sam admitted, kicking a small pebble.
"Don't worry, Sam. We'll study together. We can do it!" Peter reassured him with a confident nod.
Peter pointed to a page in the textbook, explaining equations with patience and clarity. Sam, sitting across from him, scribbled notes furiously, occasionally pausing to ask questions.
"I think I get it now," Sam said, his face lighting up with understanding.
"See? I told you, we're in this together," Peter replied, giving his friend an encouraging smile.
Sam leaned back in his chair, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. Peter had left a few hours earlier, but his words echoed in Sam's mind.
"We can do it," he whispered to himself, feeling a surge of confidence.
Sam glanced over at Peter, who gave him a thumbs-up. The teacher handed out the exam papers, and the room fell silent, except for the sound of pencils scratching on paper.
"Just like we practiced," Sam thought, focusing on the questions with newfound confidence.
Peter caught up with Sam in the hallway, both of them grinning from ear to ear.
"How did it go?" Peter asked eagerly.
"I think I did really well! Thanks to you," Sam replied, clapping his friend on the back.
Peter turned to Sam, his expression thoughtful. "You know, Sam, I think we learned more than just math. We learned how to be there for each other," Peter said.
"Yeah, the power of friendship," Sam agreed, smiling as they walked into the warm glow of the setting sun.
