Kesha sat on a swing, her feet scuffing the sand beneath her. Her eyes followed Francesca, the new girl, as she played hopscotch with Miranda. "I miss when it was just us," [@ch_1]she[/@ch_1_d] mumbled, a hint of jealousy in her voice.
Miranda glanced over, understanding the unspoken tension. "It's different, but it could be fun having someone new," [@ch_2]she[/@ch_2_d] replied, trying to bridge the growing gap between them.
Francesca sat at the table between Kesha and Miranda, her hands busy with scissors and glue. Kesha struggled to focus, watching Miranda and Francesca share laughs over colored paper.
"I have an idea," Kesha[/@ch_1_d] suddenly said, her voice louder than intended. [@ch_2]Miranda and Francesca paused, looking at her expectantly.
Kesha took a deep breath, her fingers tracing the edges of her paper crown. "What if we each make something for the other two? Like a friendship token," [@ch_1]she[/@ch_1_d] suggested, a hopeful note in her voice.
Francesca smiled warmly. "That's a great idea! We can be the Three Musketeers, always looking out for each other," [@ch_3]she[/@ch_3_d] exclaimed, her eyes bright with excitement.
Miranda carefully crafted a bracelet, threading beads with care. "This is for you, Kesha, to remind you that you're always my best friend," [@ch_2]she[/@ch_2_d] said, her voice filled with sincerity.
Kesha grinned, feeling the warmth of the gesture. She held up a small, painted rock. "This is for you, Francesca, to welcome you to our group," [@ch_1]she[/@ch_1_d] offered, her earlier doubts melting away.
The three girls walked out together, their tokens of friendship in hand. "I never thought starting at a new school would be so fun," [@ch_3]Francesca[/@ch_3_d] said, her heart full.
Miranda laughed, "With us around, there's never a dull moment," [@ch_2]she[/@ch_2_d] added, linking arms with her friends.
Kesha looked at her friends, her smile wide. "I'm glad we figured this out. It's better being friends with both of you," [@ch_1]she[/@ch_1_d] said.
Francesca nodded, "Here's to many more adventures together," [@ch_3]she[/@ch_3_d] cheered, their laughter blending with the evening breeze.
