Messiah sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes. Today was the day of the school talent show, and his stomach fluttered with both nerves and excitement.
Gigi set a plate in front of Messiah, her eyes twinkling with wisdom. "Remember, my sweet boy, start your day with affirmations. They are your shield and sword in this world." Messiah nodded, repeating after her, "I am strong. I am smart. I am loved."
Messiah walked through the throng, clutching his notebook tightly. His friends waved him over, their energy infectious. Jamal, his best friend, grinned. "You ready to blow them away today?" Messiah took a deep breath, feeling the affirmations bolster his confidence.
Messiah found a quiet corner to practice his lines. He whispered to himself, "I am brave. I am capable. I am enough." As he spoke, the words seemed to wrap around him, a comforting embrace.
Messiah stepped onto the stage, his heart pounding. As he began his spoken word piece, the room fell silent. His voice, steady and strong, filled the space. "I stand here, a young king, with dreams as vast as the sky..." The affirmations he had practiced intertwined with his words, each one a testament to his journey.
Messiah smiled, feeling a swell of pride and accomplishment. Backstage, Gigi embraced him, her eyes shining with tears of joy. "You were magnificent," she whispered, and Messiah knew then that he truly was everything his affirmations said he could be.
