Lila lay on her bed, chin propped on her hands, gazing dreamily at the sparkling tiara perched atop her bookshelf. The air was filled with the gentle hum of distant laughter drifting in from the garden. She imagined the tiara was real, that it glittered with diamonds and magic, and that someday it would rest on her head for a grand ball.
Lila closed her eyes, letting her imagination sweep her away. She could hear the rustle of silk dresses and the sweet melody of a royal orchestra. "One day, I’ll be the kindest, bravest princess in all the land," she whispered, her voice filled with hope.
The storm rattled the window, making Lila jump. For a moment, doubt crept in like the dark clouds outside. "What if I never get to be a princess?" she wondered aloud, worry tugging at her heart as the rain drummed on the glass.
Mom, gentle and warm, sits beside Lila and wraps an arm around her. "Every princess faces storms, darling," she says softly, brushing a strand of hair from her daughter’s face. "But what matters most is how you keep dreaming and believing, even when it’s hard."
Lila smiles, her worries melting away like the storm. She sits up, slipping the toy tiara onto her head, feeling a warmth and confidence blossom inside her chest. "I can be a princess, right here and now, if I am kind and brave every day," she says, voice steady with newfound certainty.
Jamie, energetic and giggling, bows dramatically. "Your Royal Highness, may I have this dance?" he asks, grinning. Lila laughs, taking his hand, and the two twirl across the room, the tiara shining, their dreams as grand as any in storybooks.
