Tom, a small boy with a determined expression, stood beside his shiny new bicycle. His friend, Hary, a lively boy with sparkling eyes, was already on his bike, ready to assist.
"Are you sure I can do this, Hary?" asked Tom, glancing nervously at the bicycle.
"Of course, Tom! Just remember what we practiced," replied Hary with an encouraging smile.
Tom mounted his bicycle, gripping the handlebars tightly. Hary held the back of the seat, ready to steady his friend.
"Just keep pedaling, and don't worry about falling. I've got you," said Hary.
Tom nodded, his face set with determination as he pushed off. The bike wobbled precariously, but Hary kept a firm grip.
Tom felt a rush of excitement mixed with fear. Hary jogged along beside him, offering words of encouragement.
"You're doing great, Tom! Just a little more speed," urged Hary.
Suddenly, the bike tilted too far to one side, and Tom lost control, tumbling onto the soft grass. He lay there for a moment, catching his breath, while Hary knelt beside him.
Hary offered a hand to his friend. "It's okay, Tom. Everyone falls at first. Let's try again," Hary said kindly.
Tom took a deep breath and nodded, his resolve rekindled by Hary's unwavering support. Together, they righted the bicycle, and Tom climbed back on.
This time, Tom pushed off with more confidence. Hary ran alongside, but slowly let go as Tom found his balance.
Tom felt the thrill of success as he pedaled down the gentle slope, the wind in his hair and a joyous shout escaping his lips. Hary cheered loudly, running after him.
Tom grinned widely, his earlier fears forgotten. Hary patted him on the back, proud of his friend's determination.
"Thanks, Hary. I couldn't have done it without you," said Tom, looking at his friend with gratitude.
"That's what friends are for," replied Hary with a grin.
Together, they watched as the sun dipped below the horizon, marking the end of a perfect day filled with friendship and newfound courage.
