Barnaby the Beetle, small and round, sits center-stage, his eyes shining with excitement as he readies a new tale. Lily the Ladybug perches nearby, her wings tucked close, nervously nibbling on a crumb. Freddie the Fly flits in midair, buzzing with impatient curiosity, while Glow-Worm Gus hangs from the ceiling, casting a gentle, comforting light. "Tonight, I have the spookiest story yet—about a bug so sneaky, it can crawl right up behind you without a sound!"
"Oh! Barnaby, please don’t make it too scary," whispers Lily, her antennae trembling.
"Don’t worry, Lily. It’s just a story...or is it?" Freddie gulps, his wings fluttering nervously.
"Legend says this tree is home to the mysterious Creeper Beetle," Barnaby intones dramatically. "Did you hear that?!" Freddie squeaks, spinning around. Lily clutches a twig, her eyes wide.
"Eek! The Creeper Beetle!" shrieks Lily, grabbing Freddie.
"It’s got me, it’s got me!" Freddie yells, spinning in circles, before realizing it was only Barnaby.
"You got us, Barnaby!" laughs Lily. "That was a good scare!" Barnaby grins, pride twinkling in his eyes.
"The best kind of scary," he says, "is the kind that ends with a big, happy laugh."
Gus leads the way, his glow shining brighter than ever. "Sometimes, a little surprise makes friendship even brighter," Lily says, squeezing Barnaby’s arm.
The End.
