Amara, a young girl with a crown of tight curls and a determined spirit, stands at the shoreline, her eyes scanning the ground for treasures.
"Today is going to be the day I find the perfect piece," she whispers to herself.
Amara kneels down, her fingers sifting through the grains until they close around a small, smooth piece of sea glass.
"Wow, this one's beautiful," she breathes, holding it up to the light where it glows like an emerald.
"Did you find something good?" Elena asks, her eyes bright with curiosity.
"Look, it's perfect!" Amara replies, handing over the glass.
"Imagine if we find a piece in every color," Amara muses.
"We could make a rainbow necklace," Elena suggests with a grin.
Amara looks at Elena, her heart full of contentment.
"I'm glad we did this together," she says softly.
"Me too," Elena replies, squeezing Amara's hand.
Amara stands, brushing sand from her dress, and looks out at the vast, darkening sea.
"Let's come back tomorrow," she says, already dreaming of their next adventure.
"Definitely," Elena agrees, smiling as they turn towards home, the promise of another day by the ocean lingering in the air.
