Zoe builds a sandcastle while Rhema collects shells to decorate it. The sisters giggle as they imagine themselves as princesses of the sandcastle. Nearby, their father, Dr. Boaz, relaxes under a beach umbrella with a book in hand.
"Look, Zoe! This shell is perfect for our castle!" Rhema exclaims, holding up a shiny, pink shell.
"It's beautiful, Rhema! Let's put it on the top," Zoe replies, carefully placing the shell on the sandcastle's peak.
Zoe and Rhema stop playing and gaze at the unusual scene unfolding before them.
"Daddy, why is the water turning red?" Zoe asks, her voice tinged with curiosity and concern.
Dr. Boaz looks up and closes his book, intrigued by the change in the water.
"That's a red tide, girls," he explains calmly, standing up to join them by the water's edge.
"Red tides are caused by tiny algae in the water. Sometimes, they multiply too fast and can change the color of the ocean," he explains.
"Are they dangerous?" Rhema asks, her eyes wide with concern.
"They can be harmful to sea creatures. That's why the fish are struggling. But scientists like me study these things to help protect the ocean," he reassures them.
"Do you want to see what the algae look like up close?" he asks, setting up the microscope.
Zoe peers into the eyepiece, her face lighting up with wonder. Rhema eagerly waits her turn.
"Wow! They look like tiny red dots!" Zoe exclaims, her voice filled with excitement.
"That's amazing! Can we help the ocean too, Daddy?" Rhema asks, inspired by what she's learned.
He shares his knowledge and suggests ways to mitigate the effects of the algae bloom, encouraging everyone to contribute to the effort.
"Together, we can help our ocean recover. It's important to be curious and care for our environment," he tells the group.
Zoe and Rhema listen attentively, feeling proud to be part of the solution.
Zoe and Rhema return to their sandcastle, smiling as they watch the waves gently wash over the sand.
"The ocean looks so much better now," Rhema remarks, satisfied with their contribution.
"We learned a lot, didn't we?" Zoe adds, her eyes reflecting the shimmering sea.
Dr. Boaz joins them, wrapping his arms around his daughters.
"I'm proud of you both. Curiosity and care can make a big difference," he says, as they watch the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink.
