Marcus sprinted across the soft grass, his shoes kicking up dew. His friends Fred and Anna raced after him, their faces glowing with excitement. "Come on, let's play soccer before the bell rings!" he called, his voice ringing clear.
Anna grinned, brushing her hair behind her ear. "Marcus, sing us your new song! The one you made up about the playground," urged Fred, his eyes twinkling with anticipation. Marcus smiled shyly, clearing his throat, then began to sing with a warm, clear voice that made even the squirrels pause to listen.
"I wish we could sing more in class," whispered Marcus, glancing at Anna. "Maybe we can show everyone your song at show-and-tell," suggested Anna, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm. Fred nodded, already imagining the applause.
"Sing louder, Marcus! Everyone should hear you," encouraged Fred, clapping his hands. "I get nervous in front of people," admitted Marcus, but Anna squeezed his hand and smiled. "We’ll be right beside you," she promised, and together their voices blended in harmony.
"This is our playground song," announced Marcus, his voice steady with hope. As he sang, Fred and Anna joined in, their voices soaring together. The room filled with music and laughter, and the teacher smiled, clearly moved by their friendship.
"You were amazing, Marcus! I knew you could do it," said Anna, nudging him gently. Fred handed Marcus a homemade paper crown, declaring him the king of singing. The three friends laughed, their voices echoing across the playground, promising more songs and adventures to come.
