Aa'ishah and Rumaysaa sit on the floor, surrounded by teddy bears, blocks, and puzzles. The younger, Rumaysaa, clutches a plush rabbit, her eyes sparkling with anticipation, while Aa'ishah arranges her dolls in a neat row. Laughter floats in the air, mingling with the chirping of birds just beyond the open window.
"I want to play with the blocks first!" Rumaysaa exclaims, her voice rising like a sudden wind.
"But I had them already, Rumaysaa. Let me finish my tower," Aa'ishah insists, her grip tightening on the blocks.
The air grows tense; toys are pushed aside, and the girls’ faces flush with frustration.
Ummi kneels beside her daughters, her hands resting lightly on their shoulders. Abba stands tall, smiling with patience, his gentle words soothing the discord.
"My dear girls, Allah loves those who are kind to each other. Islamic teachings remind us to respect our elders and honour our young," Ummi says, her voice soft as silk.
"Playing together can make your hearts grow closer," Abba adds, encouraging them with a warm glance.
Aa'ishah and Rumaysaa nod, slowly returning to their toys. Aa'ishah offers Rumaysaa a puzzle piece, and Rumaysaa grins, accepting it with delight. The quiet joy of forgiveness fills the space, and the sisters begin to rearrange their toys together.
"This puzzle is tricky, Aa'ishah! Can you help me find the blue corner?" Rumaysaa asks, her face alight with curiosity.
"Of course, Rumaysaa. Let's do it together," Aa'ishah replies, her voice warm and inviting.
Their hands move in harmony, building towers and stories, sharing discoveries and hugs.
Aa'ishah and Rumaysaa sit close, their puzzles completed, and their hearts full of newfound affection. They giggle over their books and create imaginary worlds with their toys, the lessons of kindness and respect echoing within them.
"I'm glad we played together. You’re the best sister," Rumaysaa whispers.
"Me too, Rumaysaa. We’re stronger when we play as a team," Aa'ishah replies, as the summer morning continues in peace and harmony.
