Lily and Scarlet lay sprawled across the plush carpet, each lost in her own thoughts. The silence was only broken by the occasional rustle of the curtains. "We should have rented a movie or something," Lily sighed, turning her head to look at Scarlet. "Yeah, or at least planned something more exciting," Scarlet replied, her voice tinged with disappointment.
Lily peered into the fridge, her face scrunched in concentration. Scarlet stood beside her, arms crossed, scanning the shelves. "There's absolutely nothing here!" Lily exclaimed in frustration. "I thought your mom would have left us some snacks or something," Scarlet added, closing the fridge door with a soft thud.
Lily's eyes widened as her stomach growled loudly, eliciting a giggle from Scarlet. "Did you hear that? It sounds like a monster," Scarlet teased, a playful grin spreading across her face. "Yours isn't any quieter," Lily retorted, laughing as her friend's stomach joined in the chorus.
Scarlet turned her head towards Lily, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "You know, maybe we can make this into a game," Scarlet suggested. "Like, listening to each other's stomachs and imagining what they're saying," Lily chimed in, her giggles infectious.
Lily closed her eyes, pretending to listen intently to Scarlet's belly. "I think it's saying it wants pizza," Lily guessed, her voice full of mock seriousness. "Well, yours sounds like it wants a burger," Scarlet responded, barely able to contain her laughter.
As the girls continued their playful game, the frustration of the earlier evening melted away. They giggled and whispered, concocting stories and scenarios, their imaginations running wild. "This is way better than a movie," Lily murmured, snuggling into a pillow. "Yeah, who knew our tummies could be so entertaining?" Scarlet agreed, her voice fading into the comfort of the night.
