Maya eagerly opened the door, her face lighting up as Lila and Zoe stepped inside, each carrying a bag filled with snacks and sleeping gear.
"Welcome, ladies! Let the fun begin!"
"I brought popcorn and my mom's famous brownies," Lila announced, placing the treats on a small table.
"And I have the ultimate playlist for tonight!" Zoe added, waving her phone triumphantly.
Maya leaned back against a pile of pillows, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
"Let's swap some family secrets. I'll start!" Maya suggested, her voice playful.
"Ooh, juicy!" Lila giggled, munching on a brownie.
"Okay, so my great-grandmother was apparently a famous opera singer in Italy. My mom just told me last week!"
"No way! That's so cool!" Zoe exclaimed, her eyes wide with surprise.
Lila, brushing crumbs off her lap, leaned forward.
"Did you know that polar bears have black skin under their white fur? I learned that in biology class yesterday," Lila shared enthusiastically.
"I love biology too! But history is where my heart is," Zoe chimed in. "There's just something about uncovering stories from the past that fascinates me."
"We should totally plan a trip to a historical site this summer!" Maya suggested, her eyes alight with excitement.
Zoe spread out a colorful map on the floor, her fingers tracing lines of adventure.
"How about the ancient ruins just outside town? It's supposed to be haunted!" Zoe proposed, her voice tinged with excitement and a hint of mock fear.
"Yes! And we can document our journey—like a mini documentary or something," Lila added, her imagination already running wild.
"This is going to be the best summer ever!" Maya proclaimed, her laughter ringing through the room.
Lila yawned, her eyelids drooping.
"I'm glad we did this," Lila murmured sleepily, snuggling into her sleeping bag.
"Me too," Zoe agreed, her voice soft and content.
"Goodnight, guys," Maya whispered, a smile on her lips as she drifted into dreams of adventure.
