Mia welcomed her friends with a bright smile, her excitement palpable. Lily, Emma, and Sophia shuffled in, their sleeping bags tucked under their arms. The living room was strewn with colorful cushions and a stack of movies awaited their selection.
"I can't believe we're finally doing this," Mia exclaimed, clapping her hands together.
"I've been looking forward to this all week," Emma replied, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.
Sophia giggled as Lily tossed a handful of popcorn into the air, trying to catch it with her mouth. The girls erupted into fits of laughter, the sound a comforting melody in the cozy room.
"This is the best sleepover ever," Lily declared, her cheeks flushed with joy.
"And the night is just beginning," Sophia added, winking at Mia.
Lily stirred, her eyes fluttering open in the dim light. A cold, damp sensation sent a wave of panic through her. Her heart raced as she realized what had happened.
"Oh no," she whispered to herself, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Emma, I need to tell you something," Lily whispered, her voice trembling.
"What's wrong?" Emma asked, sitting up and rubbing her eyes.
"I... I had an accident," Lily confessed, her cheeks burning with embarrassment.
Mia joined them, her expression soft and understanding. "It's okay, Lily. It happens to everyone at some point," she said gently.
"Yeah, we're here for you," Sophia added, nodding in agreement.
"Let's get you cleaned up," Emma suggested, offering her a warm smile.
Lily felt a wave of relief, her earlier embarrassment melting away in the warmth of her friends' support.
"Thank you, guys. I was so scared," she admitted, her voice filled with gratitude.
"We're a team, remember? No matter what," Mia replied, raising her mug in a toast.
"To friendship," Sophia echoed, and they all clinked their mugs together, the sound a gentle promise of unwavering camaraderie.
