Pablo rolls a giant snowball, his beanie pulled low over his eyes. Milli adds colorful buttons to a snowman while Tasha, Uniqua, Tyrone, and Geo chase each other through the powdery drifts. Bot hums a cheerful tune, his antenna blinking in the crisp air. Suddenly, a distant howl disrupts the merriment.
"Did you guys hear that? It sounded like a monster!"
"Don't be silly, Tyrone. Monsters aren't real," Milli replies, but her voice quivers just a bit.
Snow crunches as the mysterious figure lumbers closer. Pablo's eyes widen; Uniqua grips Geo's hand tightly. The group's playful shouts fade into uneasy whispers as the "monster" lets out another low growl.
"Run for your lives! The snow monster is coming!"
"Oh my gears! Retreat! Retreat!"
Austin[/@ch_8]'s cozy backyard clubhouse, snowflakes clinging to their boots.]
Austin, reading a book by a small heater, looks up in surprise as everyone tumbles inside. The room is warm and safe, filled with the orange glow of fairy lights.
"Austin, you won't believe it! There's a giant snow monster out there!"
"A snow monster? Are you sure it wasn't just somebody in a costume?"
Austin[/@ch_8] leads the expedition back outside. The sky darkens as evening falls, and the snow glitters under the moonlight. Shadows dance across the icy ground as the friends follow the monster's tracks.]
The group huddles together, their breath fogging in the cold air. They move cautiously, eyes darting to every shifting shadow. Suddenly, a faint giggle echoes from behind a tree, followed by the unmistakable sound of slipping and a soft thump.
"Wait, did you hear that laugh? It sounded...familiar."
"Let’s see who’s really behind this snow monster!"
UmiCar[/@ch_9], draped in a white, fluffy blanket, antennae poking out, and a painted cardboard mouth taped on.]
UmiCar blinks, embarrassed but amused. The blanket slips, revealing the wheels and friendly face underneath.
"Surprise! I wanted to play a snow monster game, but I guess I scared you all too much."
"UmiCar! You trickster! You had us running like snowflakes in the wind!"
UmiCar[/@ch_9], sharing hugs and giggles under the moonlit sky. The backyard glows with warmth and joy, the earlier fear now just a funny memory.]
Snowballs fly again, but this time in friendly play. The group promises to always stick together, even when things seem scary. The night ends with cocoa in the clubhouse, and stories of the "snow monster" already growing taller with every retelling.
"Next time, let's all be the snow monster together!"
"Deal! But only if there’s hot chocolate after," Milli grins, and everyone cheers.
