Lila wandered through the garden, her eyes scanning the ground as she hummed a tune. Suddenly, her gaze fell upon a small, motionless form nestled among the foliage. "Mama, come quickly! There's a bird here," she called out, her voice tinged with concern.
"It's just a little hurt, sweetie," Maya reassured, pulling a soft cloth from her pocket. She began to carefully clean the sparrow's wound, her touch as gentle as a whisper. Lila watched intently, her eyes wide with empathy. "Will it be okay?" she asked.
Maya set the sparrow down beside the bowl, encouraging it to eat. Lila knelt beside her mother, her hands clasped in hope. "We can help it get strong again, like the stories of brave knights you love," Maya said with a smile. "Yes, like the knights," Lila agreed, her voice filled with determination.
Lila watched as the sparrow began to flutter its wings, tentatively at first, then with growing confidence. Maya nodded approvingly, her heart swelling with pride for both the bird and her daughter. "It's almost ready to fly," Lila said, excitement dancing in her voice.
Maya opened her hands, gently lifting the sparrow into the air. Lila watched with wide eyes as the bird hesitated, then soared upward, its wings catching the breeze. "Fly free, little one," Lila whispered, a tear of joy slipping down her cheek.
Maya wrapped an arm around Lila, pulling her close. "You did something wonderful today," she said, her voice filled with warmth. "We both did," Lila replied, smiling up at her mother as they both watched the horizon, a shared sense of accomplishment filling the air.
