Sammy the squirrel lived in the big forrest with his friends. He loved the trees and the acorns.
Sammy crept quietly and snatched acorns from piles when no one was looking. Sometimes, he even took acorns from his friends, thinking, "If I have the most acorns, I'll be the happiest squirrel ever!" His pile grew and grew, but he didn’t feel as happy as he thought he would.
Lila looked sad as she gazed at her tiny pile of acorns. "Sammy, why won’t you play with us anymore? You always seem busy with your acorns," she asked softly. Sammy felt a little lonely, even with his huge pile.
Sammy felt a tug in his heart as he saw Lila sharing her last acorn with a small mouse. He remembered how fun it was to play together and realized his acorns couldn’t make him happy if he had no friends. "Maybe sharing is better than keeping everything to myself," he whispered.
Sammy reached Lila and her group. "Would you like some of my acorns? I want to share with everyone," he said, smiling shyly. The other animals cheered and thanked him, their eyes bright and happy.
"Thank you, Sammy! Playing together is so much fun," said Lila, giving him a friendly hug. Sammy felt warm inside, knowing that friendship was more precious than all the acorns in the forest.
