Violet, the child vampire, watches the shadows dance across the ground, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. She notices Samir, the child mummy, hiding and gives a mischievous smile. "Hey, do you ever wonder where the sun goes at night?" Samir hesitates before stepping into the moonlight, his ancient wrappings fluttering in the breeze.
"I always thought the sun just… disappeared. My old scrolls never explained it," Samir admits, clutching his tattered satchel. "Let’s find out! Maybe if we follow where the light fades, we’ll catch the sun," Violet replies, determination sparking in her voice. They set off deeper into the woods, their laughter echoing softly.
Samir kneels beside the sundial, tracing symbols with careful fingers. "Maybe the river knows where the sun goes," he suggests thoughtfully. Violet grins and nods, her fangs flashing. Together, they follow the riverbank, searching for signs in the water and the stars above.
"Excuse me, Mister Owl," Violet calls gently, "Do you know where the sun goes at night?" The owl fluffs his feathers and peers down. "The sun travels the world, lighting places far away. It never truly disappears—it just hides until it’s your turn again," the owl hoots, his voice deep and ancient.
Samir wraps an arm around Violet, his bandages soft against her cloak. "So the sun isn’t gone—it’s just elsewhere, bringing light to new friends," he muses. "And now it’s coming back to us. We found the answer together," Violet says, smiling as the warmth touches her pale cheeks.
Violet and Samir promise to seek more adventures as the sun rises, illuminating their world with hope. Their friendship, like the sun’s journey, continues—never truly ending, always shining somewhere new.
