Oliver sighed heavily, tapping his pencil against the notebook in front of him. His brows were furrowed, and his eyes darted restlessly over the math problems that just wouldn't make sense. "Why can't I get this right?" he muttered under his breath, frustration bubbling over.
"I thought you could use a little break," she said with a warm smile, handing him a spoon. Her eyes twinkled with understanding and encouragement. Oliver looked up, his frustration momentarily forgotten, as the promise of a sweet treat lifted his spirits.
Oliver's face lit up with joy, his earlier frown replaced by a bright smile. "This is amazing, Mom," he exclaimed, feeling a wave of happiness wash over him. The ice cream had worked its magic, the sweetness igniting a spark of motivation within him.
His mother watched from the doorway, pride swelling in her heart. "I knew you could do it," she whispered softly, her voice a gentle reassurance. Oliver nodded, feeling grateful for the support that surrounded him.
Oliver leaned back in his chair, a satisfied smile playing on his lips. "Thanks, Mom. I guess I just needed a little sweetness to get through," he chuckled, feeling lighter and more accomplished than he had in days.
"Remember, whenever you're stressed, a bit of happiness can go a long way," she said, ruffling his hair affectionately. Oliver nodded, knowing that with a little help, he could turn any moment of stress into a moment of happiness.
