In this vibrant forest, there lived a colorful parrot named Lila and a shy hedgehog named Benny. Lila was known for her brilliant plumage that shimmered in the sunlight, while Benny preferred the quieter comforts of the underbrush, his quills blending with the earth.
"Ready or not, here I come!" Lila squawked cheerfully, fluttering her wings as she searched for Benny.
Benny, hiding beneath a large fern, giggled quietly. "You'll never find me here!" he thought, peeking out just enough to see Lila soaring overhead.
As Lila flew past, a squirrel chattered from a branch, "Look at that silly hedgehog, always hiding!" The other creatures joined in with sneers and giggles.
Lila paused mid-flight, her heart sinking. She didn't like hearing them make fun of her friend. "Hey, that's not nice," she called out, trying to defend Benny.
Lila landed gently beside Benny, who had come out from his hiding spot, looking downcast. "It's okay, Lila," he murmured, "I'm used to it."
Lila shook her head firmly. "No, Benny. If they have nothing nice to say, they shouldn't say anything at all," she said, her voice kind but resolute.
The creatures watched, feeling a twinge of regret. Lila's words echoed in their minds, and they began to understand the hurt their teasing caused.
"We're sorry, Benny," the squirrel finally said, hanging his head. "We didn't mean to hurt your feelings."
Benny smiled, his heart warming with acceptance. "Thank you," he replied, grateful for Lila's friendship.
Lila flapped her wings joyfully. "Let's all play together, and remember, kindness is the best game of all," she chirped, as they all laughed and played until the stars began to twinkle overhead.
