Whiskers, a fluffy gray tabby with large, expressive eyes, watched the world from the window sill. He had once had a mother, the gentle Mama Cat, who taught him the ways of kindness before she disappeared one stormy night.
Lily, a curious toddler with pigtails, was feeling left out as Tommy and Sara played with a shiny red ball. "I want to play too," she pleaded, but Tommy and Sara were too engrossed to notice.
Whiskers padded over softly, nudging the ball toward Lily. "Meow," he purred, his eyes twinkling with encouragement. "Let's all play together," Sara suggested, realizing the joy in sharing.
"Thank you, Whiskers," Tommy giggled as Lily joined the game, her face glowing with happiness. Whiskers watched them play, his heart swelling with the simple joy of helping others.
Whiskers returned to his window sill, his mission accomplished. He gazed at the stars, remembering Mama Cat and her lessons. "Kindness is a gift we can all share," he thought, curling up for a peaceful sleep.
Whiskers knew that tomorrow would bring new opportunities to teach and learn, just as Mama Cat had shown him. He purred softly, content in the knowledge that small acts of kindness could make a big difference.
