Little Bill, the curious little boy with his signature cap, played happily with his friends. Dora, the adventurous girl in her pink shirt and orange shorts, swung high with Boots, her monkey companion wearing red boots. Nearby, Kai-Lan, the friendly Ni Hao Kai-Lan girl with her red dress, chatted with the Backyardigans, a lively group of animal friends in vibrant costumes, including Uniqua, Pablo, Tyrone, Tasha, and Austin, all dancing around a pretend campfire.
"This is the best playdate ever! Let's build the biggest fort!" exclaimed Little Bill, stacking blocks high. "¡Sí! And we'll explore like real adventurers, finding hidden treasures along the way," replied Dora, her eyes sparkling with excitement as the group cheered in unison.
Suddenly, a translucent figure materialized from the mist, draped in a flowing white shawl, her face wrinkled and stern like an ancient portrait, eyes glowing faintly green. She called herself the Bisabuela Ghost, named after Alma Rivera's grandmother, hovering menacingly with rattling chains that clinked like distant thunder. The children froze, toys dropping from their hands as her hollow voice echoed through the air.
"Beware, little ones! I am the Bisabuela Ghost, guardian of forgotten secrets! Leave this place or face my wrath forever!" wailed Bisabuela Ghost, her form swirling with spectral fog. "¡Ay, caramba! It's a real ghost! Run, everybody, run!" screamed Boots, his tail puffing up in terror.
The group scattered in blind panic, screams piercing the starry night. Little Bill clutched his cap, Dora and Boots held hands tightly, Kai-Lan gasped in fear, and the Backyardigans tumbled over each other in a colorful heap. They dashed toward the edge of the yard, hearts pounding, the ghost's misty trail nipping at their heels.
"Ni hao isn't helping now! That ghost is so scary, she's chasing us with her spooky chains and glowing eyes! We have to tell someone!" cried Kai-Lan, her voice trembling. "Pablo's freezing, Tyrone's super scared, we're all running for our lives—help!" shouted the Backyardigans in a chorus, their imaginations turning the flight into a nightmare adventure.
Panting and huddled together, the frightened friends burst into the shed where Geo from Team Umizoomi, the small blue robot boy with shape powers and a friendly face, was fixing a pattern puzzle. Milli, his stretchy pink robot sister, and Bot, the orange robot with wheels and a screen face, looked up curiously from their workbenches cluttered with gears and colorful blocks.
"Geo! You won't believe it—a ghost named Bisabuela Ghost scared us all! She came out of the mist, screamed about secrets, and chased us with chains!" blurted Little Bill, waving his arms wildly. "¡Por favor, help us, Geo! She's huge and glowy, just like in scary stories—we ran so fast, but she's still out there!" added Dora, while Boots nodded furiously.
Geo activated his Umi Alarm, his tiny body buzzing with energy, shapes floating around him like magical helpers. Milli stretched her arms to check high branches, and Bot rolled forward with his pattern scanner whirring. "Don't worry, friends! With super math and shapes, we'll solve this mystery together," declared Geo, leading them back cautiously.
"Let's measure the ghost's trail—those chains left pattern marks! See, three links, then a swirl—it's not random. And look, footsteps that are too small for a giant ghost," explained Geo patiently, pointing with glowing shapes. "I'm stretching to see behind the slide—hey, there's a white sheet and a fan making mist! This ghost isn't real!" giggled Milli, easing the tension.
The team cornered the "ghost," who tripped and fell, the sheet flying off to reveal Manny, the mischievous boy from Handy Manny with paint on his hands and a sheepish grin, surrounded by props like glow sticks and a voice recorder. He had dressed up for a Halloween prank, naming himself after the Bisabuela Ghost to spook everyone. Laughter replaced screams as the truth dawned.
"Okay, okay! It was just me, trying to make the ultimate backyard scare for fun—I borrowed the name from a story about Alma's grandma to make it extra spooky, but I didn't mean to chase you so far!" confessed Manny, helping pack up his gadgets. "See? Math and teamwork always fix the frights. Now let's all play for real—no more ghosts!" cheered Geo, as hugs and high-fives lit up the night.
