Draco, a dragon of unusual size and a dazzling array of scales, lounged outside his cavernous lair. His eyes, usually bright with the allure of gold, were now puffy and red, a testament to his peculiar affliction. "Oh, the irony of a dragon allergic to what it loves most," he sighed, glancing at the treasure chest beside him, filled with gold coins and shimmering jewels that made him sneeze violently.
Flick, a sprightly fairy with wings that sparkled like morning dew, flitted around the room, her laughter echoing off the walls. "Why not trade these maps for something less... sneezy?" she suggested, her mischievous grin widening.
"And what would that be, Flick?" Draco replied, exasperation tinged with amusement. "Shiny pebbles, of course! They don't shimmer quite like coins but are just as lovely!" Flick twirled mid-air, sending a cascade of fairy dust onto a pile of maps.
Draco, in disguise as a humble merchant, stood awkwardly behind a stall filled with maps. He was aware of the stares from curious villagers, intrigued by his unusual wares. "Maps for pebbles!" he called, his voice booming over the chatter.
Ethel the Baker, an elderly woman with a keen eye for bargains, approached with a basket of freshly baked bread. "Maps, you say? I may have some river stones that could interest you," she offered, eyeing a map depicting a rumored treasure island.
Draco sat contentedly, surrounded by a growing collection of polished pebbles that glimmered under the moonlight. Flick danced atop the pile, her wings reflecting the moon's glow. "These are quite beautiful," Draco admitted, his heart warming to the sight.
"See? Sometimes, the simplest treasures are the best," Flick replied, settling down on a particularly smooth stone.
Draco awoke with a newfound sense of peace. The absence of his usual sneezing fits was a welcome relief. "Perhaps it's time for a treasure-free party, just as you suggested, Flick," he mused aloud, considering the joy of sharing his new collection with friends.
"A splendid idea! We shall invite all the creatures of the forest," Flick exclaimed, fluttering excitedly around Draco.
Draco, surrounded by friends old and new, basked in the camaraderie. The pebbles, arranged artfully around the clearing, sparkled in the lantern light, a testament to his creative ingenuity. "To new beginnings and the treasures we find in friendship," he toasted, raising a goblet high.
Flick, perched on his shoulder, raised her tiny cup with a grin. "And to living without sneezes!"
