Doctor Philip Sherman sat with a mixture of defiance and unease as King Aquaman declared, "Doctor Philip Sherman, you are guilty of kidnapping the clownfish Nemo from the sea and intending to deliver him to your niece Darla. How do you plead?"
"Not guilty!" Doctor Sherman replied, his voice echoing through the chamber. "I have a passion for diving, and little Nemo would not have survived long in the open sea." His words hang in the water, drawing skeptical glances from the assembled fish.
"But with Darla, he wouldn't have survived a second. She's a fish murderer!" Kahn exclaimed, his voice filled with the weight of truth. The lake star Bella and other fish nod in agreement, their eyes reflecting their shared fear of Darla.
As Doctor Sherman watches, his face turns pale. "I had no idea she was capable of this," he stammered, disbelief etched into his features.
"You and your niece shall work in the whale washing plant in Riff City," King Aquaman decreed, his voice resonant. "There, you will learn to respect the life of the sea." As Doctor Sherman and Darla exchange accusatory glances, the weight of their punishment begins to sink in.
Under the guidance of Oscar, a wise old fish with a penchant for storytelling, Doctor Sherman and Darla work together, their hands deep in the mouths of whales. They bicker and blame each other, but slowly, amidst the routine and shared responsibility, they begin to understand the value of the lives they once endangered.
