Turtle emerges slowly from the water, his shell glistening in the early light. He looks around, taking in the tranquil morning, savoring the calm. Not far away, Monkey swings from a low branch, his eyes bright and curious.
"Good morning, Turtle! Why do you always move so slowly? Don’t you want to see more of the world?"
"Good things come to those who wait, Monkey. I prefer to enjoy each moment as it comes,"
Monkey laughs, scratching his head, eager for an adventure.
"I'll bet you I can cross this log faster than you, Turtle. Let’s see who gets to the big mango tree on the other side first!"
Turtle considers the challenge, a gentle smile on his face. He nods, accepting, while Monkey bounds ahead, brimming with energy.
Monkey is halfway across before slipping on the wet wood, arms flailing. Turtle continues steadily, undeterred by the excitement around him.
"Oh no! Wait for me, Turtle!"
"Slow and steady, Monkey. Don’t rush and you’ll get there safely,"
"You were right, Turtle. I was too hasty and nearly fell in! Maybe I can learn to slow down sometimes,"
"And maybe I can learn to be brave and try new things, like you do,"
They laugh together, sharing the sweetness of a ripe mango.
"Let’s always help each other, Turtle,"
"Together, we make the perfect team, Monkey,"
Their laughter echoes through the trees, a promise of many more adventures to come.
