Mummy Pig stood among her friends, her cheeks flushed with joy. Daddy Pig was beside her, his round face beaming as they announced the upcoming addition to their family.
Mrs. Rabbit clapped her hands excitedly. "Another little one! Oh, what wonderful news!"
The midwife emerged from the back room with a curious expression. In her arms was a tiny creature unlike any they'd expected. It had the snout of a pig but was covered in the soft fur of an ox.
"What a surprise!" Mummy Pig exclaimed, her voice a mix of awe and confusion.
Daddy Pig, staring at the little one, felt a knot tighten in his stomach. "This can't be right," he murmured, his voice tinged with disbelief.
Grandpa Pig, standing nearby, placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Sometimes, life takes unexpected turns," he said softly.
Daddy Pig watched as the doctor approached, holding an envelope in his hand. The room felt charged with tension, the ticking of the clock echoing loudly.
Dr. Fox looked at him with sympathy. "The test confirms it," he said, his voice gentle. "The baby's father is indeed an ox."
Daddy Pig stood alone, contemplating the path ahead. His heart ached with the weight of betrayal, yet he knew he had to find a way forward.
"I never imagined it would end like this," he thought, a tear slipping down his cheek as he made his way home.
Mummy Pig cradled the baby, her heart a mix of sorrow and hope. Despite the challenges ahead, she was determined to provide the love and care her child needed.
"We'll be okay," she whispered, a quiet promise to the little one in her arms as they began their new life together.
