Lily skipped along the sidewalk with her friends, her pigtails swinging in rhythm with her steps. "Today is going to be great!" she exclaimed, her voice full of excitement for the day ahead. Unbeknownst to her, a small figure was following at a distance, his tiny feet trying to keep up with the bigger kids.
"Wait for me, Lily!" he called out, his voice a mix of determination and innocence. Though his sister was out of earshot, Max was undeterred, determined to be part of the adventure.
One of the older kids, Jake, noticed the little boy and crouched down to his level. "Hey buddy, where are you off to?" he asked with a friendly smile. Max giggled and replied, "I'm going to school like my sister!" The group chuckled at his determination. On the way, Max jumped in a mud puddle and it splashed over his clothes and face. He found this funny
Upon reaching the school, Ms. Carter, the friendly principal, greeted them. Her eyes widened with amusement as she noticed the little muddy boy. "Why, who can thus be? A new student? LET'S wipeoff the mud so I can see who's under there, you must be Lily's brother!" she remarked, noticing the striking resemblance. Max nodded proudly, feeling like a small celebrity in the office. they have him juice and apple, whil they waited for Lily to come to the office.
"Max!" Lily exclaimed, her eyes wide with surprise and a hint of exasperation. She rushed over to him, pulling him into a hug. "I wanted to come with you!" Max explained, his voice muffled against her shoulder. Lily said you mustn't follow me anymore to School you must stay at home mom would be very worried about you and Max reply okay I promise not to do that anymore but please bring me some juice and cookies when you come home and everyone laughed
Max nodded, his adventure drawing to a close as he sat next to his sister, feeling happy to be part of her world, even if just for a morning.
