Ramu stirred from his sleep as the first rays of the sun peeked through his window. He stretched, feeling refreshed, and quickly set about his morning routine. He brushed his teeth, took a brisk bath, and dressed neatly, his face bright with anticipation for the day ahead. In a nearby house, Somu groaned, pulling his blanket over his head as sunlight spilled across his messy bed.
Ramu sat at the table, savoring a wholesome breakfast his mother had prepared. The aroma of fresh idlis and sambar filled the room, and he greeted his parents cheerfully. "Thank you, Amma! This breakfast gives me so much energy for the day," he exclaimed, finishing his meal before heading out. Meanwhile, Somu lazily wandered into his kitchen, grabbing a leftover biscuit and slumping into a chair, eyes half-closed.
Ramu joined his friends near the playground, his laughter ringing out as they played cricket and shared stories. Every movement was lively, his energy infectious. "Let’s try a new game today! I’ve finished all my homework and chores already," he suggested, inspiring enthusiasm among the group. Somu, however, trudged to the field, yawning and rubbing his eyes, unable to keep up with the others.
Ramu's friends gathered around him, eager to hear his stories and join in his games. Somu, meanwhile, sat alone, his energy drained, watching the others with a sense of frustration. "I wish I could be as active as Ramu, but I just feel so tired all the time," he muttered under his breath. His mind wandered to how differently his day might have unfolded if he had followed a routine like Ramu.
Ramu returned home, still energetic and brimming with joy, helping his parents with evening chores. Somu shuffled back to his house, feeling sluggish and discontented. Later that evening, Ramu visited Somu, noticing his friend’s glum expression. "Somu, you look upset. Is everything all right?" Somu sighed, admitting, "I think I need to change my habits. You always seem so happy and energetic. Maybe I should try waking up early and taking better care of myself, too."
Somu opened his eyes to the soft glow of sunrise, determined to start afresh. He brushed his teeth, took a refreshing bath, and enjoyed a healthy breakfast, feeling an unfamiliar spark of energy. Meeting Ramu at the playground, "Thank you, Ramu! Today already feels much better. I think I understand now—discipline really does make life happier and brighter," he said with a smile. Ramu grinned, glad to see his friend transformed, and together they ran off to make the most of their day.
